Tales in the Undergrowth: Wooden Colossus [DEMO]
A downloadable game for Windows
DEMO
This is just a demo for the actual game itself, so a lot is subject to change.
Think of this as a slice for the scope of the game at the current time, where the core of the moment to moment gameplay is in the demo.
Some of the large systems haven't been implemented yet.
Testing the Demo myself, it took me about 10 minutes to complete.
Feedback is greatly appreciated.
If you'd like to see some short clips of the game check out my Bluesky account, I post semi-regular clips of new features over the course of the game's development.

CONCEPT
The brief concept of what the full game will be is that it is intended to be 1 dungeon from a full zelda-like game.
So when the full game is out, there will be some narrative context that it is part of a larger narrative.
I'm only 1 person, so for my first game I think a single dungeon is fine for scope.
GAMEPLAY
Here's a quick video detailing some of the gameplay in the Demo:
The moment to moment gameplay centers around exploring a top-down zelda-like dungeon.
The player can do simple platforming (jumping over pits), picking up objects, carrying said objects around, and putting them down or throwing the objects.
VISUALS
Everything in the game is 2D, with the intention of making it feel somewhat 3D.
All the characters are 3d models made in Blender, but rendered out as 2D sprites.
And all of the environments are composed of assets I drew myself in Krita.
